Piano Lessons in Southern Delaware.

ArAimee Guskye you ready to take the plunge and start piano lessons? Or are you looking for a fabulous and fun teacher for your child?

Then you’ve come to the right place! Welcome to Chords and More.

I teach piano lessons in Southern Delaware to students from at 6 to 86. (Actually I have no age limit – it’s never too late to learn to play the piano.)

Whether you want traditional lessons or learn to play chord piano (or both), whether you want to play jazz, pop or sacred music, you’ve come to the right place….As long as you’re in Delaware or the Eastern Shore of Maryland that is.

I live between Fenwick Island and Selbyville and teach at my home to students from Ocean View, Fenwick Island, Ocean City, Bethany Beach, Millville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Clarksville and Millsboro or anywhere you want to drive from.

For students who live in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Long Neck, Milford, Georgetown or areas in between, I teach at B & B Music on Rt. 1 in Lewes.

I teach:

  • Note Reading in both right and left hands
  • Chord Piano
  • Theory
  • Improvisation
  • Composing and Arranging
  • Playing by Ear

Adults: Many adult students want to learn chord style piano and keyboard and bypass learning to read the left hand altogether. This is a valid goal and usually within a year or two, the student is proficient at playing his or her favorite songs. Other adults want to learn classical music or build on their existing knowledge and brush up on their skills.

Children and Adolescents: I teach all children traditional lessons including some classic Classical pieces. But many adolescents and teens want to learn their favorite pop songs, so the older the student, the more options are open to them (as long as parents approve).

All of my students learn theory to develop an understanding of how music “works,” and I give them opportunities to learn to pick out a song by ear and add an accompaniment to it, learn improvisation and dressing up a basic song.

I believe that piano lessons should be fun as well as an opportunity to develop discipline. I take a light and friendly approach, though I do expect students to follow my rules and to PRACTICE!
